GREECE PELOPONNESE KORINTHIA PETRI

About 6 km southwest of Nea Nemea lies the village of Petri, near Aidonia. South of the village, on a very low hill, is the site of the important Early Helladic settlement of Petri, discovered in 1995. This area in a heartland of Early Helladic culture near the Asopos creek is now intensively used for winegrowing.

Alas, the remains of a more than 5000 year old settlement have vanished, and there are just some accumulations of stones that only much phantasy can associate with the prehistoric past.
